What is the difference between open and closed rhinoplasty approaches?

An open rhinoplasty allows the surgeon to see and access the nasal tissues through a tiny columella incision. However, closed rhinoplasty incisions are done inside the nostrils, leaving no visible scars. The surgeon and case determine open or closed methods.
